Abstract (EN)

The period of national struggle was one of the most difficult and painful periods in our Turkish history. The only concern of our nation, which is in an all-out war to save the country, is to try to establish the future of the country in this cruel and difficult time. The period of national struggle, which started with Mustafa Kemal's arrival in Samsun, ended with the declaration of the Republic. Following Mustafa Kemal's journey from Samsun to Ankara, the First Grand National Assembly of Turkey was opened and assumed the role of the constituent assembly. Subsequently, the Ministry of Education was established within the Board of Executive Deputies. It was not easy to do something in the name of education during the national struggle, which lasted about 4 years. At a time when the priority was to save the country from enemy occupation, Rıza Nur, Hamdullah Suphi, Mehmet Vehbi and İsmail Safa Beys tried to fulfill this duty. Although they all have different perspectives on education, the common interest has been to try to do what is most beneficial for the survival of the nation. The most prominent developments regarding education of this period were the Education Congress and the First Scientific Committee meeting. After the declaration of the Republic after the period of national struggle, educational activities continued without interruption. The publication of the Tevhid-i Tedrisat law shortly after the proclamation of the Republic showed that educational activities would continue without interruption. During the Republic period, many important Ministers of Education took office. We can say that the most important MPs among these are Vasıf Çınar and Mustafa Necati. The impact of the reforms made in the name of education did not end only on that day, but continues to this day. The aim of this study is to try to understand what kind of thoughts and ideas the Ministers of National Education who served during Atatürk's time, as people who served in the founding of the country, were in when establishing education, which is the basic building block of the country. We will try to understand to what extent they are able to reflect these ideas in their work and activities while expressing them. The Ministers of National Education of the period actually created today's education approach with the decisions they made. We want those who will benefit from this study to see where our education has come from by comparing the past and the present, considering their contributions to education. Education is the core and everything of a society. It is the columns that keep a building standing. The stronger these pillars are at their foundations, the stronger and more solid the country's progress in education, culture, arts, sports and economy. We hope that our country's education will reach better levels day by day. Our wish is that we leave a bright future and a good future to the generations after us.
