Abstract (EN)
There is a need of mapping the noise caused by air vehicles around an airport including its approach, landing, take-off, and climbing routes in able to define the effects and adverse circumstances of the environmental noise generated by air vehicles. With the purpose of highlighting the effects of environmental noise caused by Istanbul Atatürk Airport, the noise models have been developed via a commercial software application by using the statistical data obtained from DHMI. The existing noise map constructed by using the last four years data and the future noise map constructed by taking into account the expected future increase in air traffic have been assessed, the results have been compared, and after assessing the environmental effects of the noise, it has been concluded that noise can be hold under the tolerance settings of international standards by taking necessary precautions.
