Abstract (EN)

Defense industry is one of the most crucial elements determining the economic and political power of nations, and it must continuously adapt to evolving technologies. Türkiye has been encouraging domestic production in this field to reduce foreign dependency and, with the contribution of the private sector, has been developing innovative projects. In particular, the development of ergonomic, durable, and accuracy-enhancing accessories for light weapons used in close-quarters operations has gained critical importance. Within this scope, kits that provide ease of handling and practical aiming, as well as telescopic stock systems that improve user comfort and performance, stand out as significant innovations. Since each user has different firearm handling habits, fixed buttstocks often cause ergonomic problems. To eliminate this issue, a compact telescopic stock has been designed using composite fiber-reinforced polymer material. With easily replaceable shoulder pads, this system improves shooting accuracy while minimizing possible deformations that may occur in the field. The stock, produced from durable materials such as polyurethane, polypropylene, polyamide, and polycarbonate, can be easily replaced in the event of damage, ensuring continuity of use. Unlike these commonly used polymers in the market, this study focused on PETG, PLA-CF, and PC polymers, and drop test results demonstrated that PLA-CF and PC exhibited suitable stress resistance. The product, being suitable for mass production through injection molding, ensures substantial mechanical strength when manufactured from high-performance polymers.
