Abstract (EN)

The rapidly increasing and differentiating consumption habits due to the increasing number of population in the world and the development of technology have increased the amount of waste. In this study; The effects of waste frying oil and waste agricultural ash (pine twig, pine cap, poplar cap, corn stalk) from biomass products on the physical and chemical properties of bitumen were investigated. It is aimed to increase the performance and stability of bituminous hot mixes, to optimize the amount of additives, and to create more economical designs by recycling biomass products. In the study, waste frying oil at the rates of 0%, 2%, 4% by weight, to pure bitumen with 70/100 penetration; Waste agricultural ash was added at the rate of 0%, 3%, 6% by weight. A total of 9 experimental group samples were created from modified bitumen at 170°C, 180°C, 190°C temperatures and at a constant 3000 RPM mixing speed for 10, 20, 30 minutes. Penetration, softening point, flash point, rotational thin film heating (RTFOT), FTIR tests and Marshall Design test were applied to these samples. The properties of bituminous binders were observed by applying repenetration, softening point and flash point tests to the samples aged with RTFOT and calculating the penetration index. In the results of working; Waste frying oil additive; It was concluded that bitumen increased the penetration value and thus its workability, while the waste agricultural ash additive decreased the penetration value and thus increased the consistency. As a result of the Marshall experiment, it was concluded that the additive of waste frying oil decreased the stability value, while the additive of ash increased it; It was observed that oil and ash additives did not cause an increase or decrease in yield values.
