Abstract (EN)
Storing various products resulting from industrial waste or abandoning them to nature creates great difficulties and causes many problems, including environmental pollution. Nowadays, studies are being carried out on the evaluation and upcycling of waste generated during the production of various products in different areas intensely. There are many studies on the addition of different materials to hot bituminous mixtures in order to prevent deformations in flexible pavement and to minimize them. Thus, the use of waste materials in bituminous hot mixtures also constitutes an alternative field. As a result of determining the improvement of the mixture properties of the materials used through experiments, both the disposal of waste materials and the solution to environmental problems will be provided. In this study, the usability of two different industrial materials, waste marble and waste glass powder, as fillers in asphalt mixtures with different contents was investigated. In order to determine the optimum bitumen content, Marshall samples were prepared using bitumen at 4.0, 4.5, 5.0, 5.5 and 6.0 %. By applying Marshall design method tests to the prepared samples, the optimum bitumen percentage was determined as 4.25%. Marble and glass powder, which were supplied as industrial waste materials, were used as substitutes for the samples with optimum bitumen content at different rates, including 0, 25, 50, 75 and 100% of the filler material amount in the determined gradation. The prepared samples were examined in terms of mechanical properties using the Marshall Stability Test. It was seen that the waste marble and glass powder can be used as filler substitutes in bituminous hot mix pavements according to the test results.
