Abstract (EN)

In this research, the reasons of THE PRE-COMPETITION RELAXATION METHODS, SUPERSTITIONS AND TRADITIONAL RELIGIOUS BELIEFS of the professional athletes in Turkey are studied.The environment of this study will be formed by the athletes competeting in Turkish Super League of Atletics which is connected to The General Directorate of Youth and Sports. The research groups consists of 200 players, 100 men and 100 women between the ages of 15 and 25 who are competing in the Super League of Atletics.The measurement tools: The psyhcological factors such as superstitions, rituels, environmental support, religious beliefes are decided via literature scan, and a questionnaire indicating these factors are prepared and applied to the players.To study the reliability of the questionnaire, internal coherence coefficient is calculated. The CRONBACH alpha coefficient is .75. Findings about the reliability analysis of the questionnaire can be found in Table 1-A.SPSS 11 statistics software will be used to analyze the research results of this study.. The correlation is controlled chi-square test and it accepted that p=0,05 as a meaningful degree.
