Abstract (EN)
Wound healing is a complex biological process that involves the repair and reconstruction of damaged tissues. While scar tissue formed during the healing process ensures wound closure, it may not fully restore the mechanical and functional properties of the original tissue. Today, various treatment approaches have been developed to optimize wound healing and minimize scar formation. In this context, innovative technologies such as cold atmospheric plasma have emerged as a potential alternative for regulating the wound healing process and reducing scar tissue formation. This study focuses on the effects of plasma irradiation with varying power, duration, and application timing parameters on sutured and non-sutured wounds, evaluating for the first time in the literature the effectiveness of cold atmospheric plasma in wound formation and scar tissue regulation. Plasma irradiation was applied using two power levels (35 W and 55 W), two exposure durations (2 minutes and 5 minutes), and two application timings (immediately during the surgical procedure and 24 hours after the procedure). The effects were evaluated using immunohistochemical tests, wound contraction analyses, routine hematoxylin staining, and TAS/TOS analysis parameters.
