Özet (EN)

Today, there are problems with increasing drug resistance and side effects caused by these resistance mechanisms. Due to the development of antifungal resistance, especially against flucanazole, new research is needed for different drugs and drug combinations. The antifungal activity of different antidepressants was investigated in this thesis based on the previous studies and the antimicrobial activity of these antidepressants was found to be more effective than the other drugs. Antifungal effect of atomoxetine is determined by the preliminary studies. Atomoxetine-flucanazole combination increased the antifungal activity. The synergistic effect of Atomoxetine and Flucanazole on C. albicans determined by checkerboard analysis. Another kinetics of antimicrobial activity is the time kill and the fungicidal activity of these two substances is showed. This antifungal effect was elaborated by transcriptome analysis. Efficacy on genes was determined in the transcriptome analysis with and without drugs. Keywords: Atomoxetine, Flucanazol, Antifungal activity, Transcriptome analysis
