Abstract (EN)

In the present study, it was aimed to determine the spread of ALV infection which inducing neoplastic diseases in laying hens with ELISA method around the Aydın region. The relation between ELISA results and egg quality criterions was investigated. Eggs of domestic fowls were sampled from different localizations of several provinces.The albumen of 585 randomly selected eggs sampled from 151 pens at six different provinces were tested for group of ALV p27 specific antigen. The proportion of pens which defined as positive for ALV p27 range between 17 to 100%. ALV infection rate for all eggs tested was 47,69 % (279 eggs of 585 total eggs tested). When examined the spread of pens based on provinces as positive for ALV p27 antigens, the lowest value was determined in İncirliova with 40 % (14 of total pens examined), where as the highest percentage value with 90- 63 % recorded in Söke (29 of total pens surveyed). These findings clearly demonstrated that disease agents of ALV are widespread throughout the field surveyed. Egg weight and shape index of sample was defined as negative for ALV p 27 antigen higher than positive ones. Hence, further researches are needed whether the disease has been occurred or not and also preventive measures should be taken in order to eradication of the disease.
