Abstract (EN)

The maqams of Turkish Music, which have a deep-rooted history, have undergone various changes over time and have been processed in different ways by composers in certain works. Avni Anıl, who took his place among the leading composers by contributing to this change, is an important composer who has enriched the melodic progress adaptation of maqams in Turkish music with his studies in the field of music and with the works he has composed. Avni Anıl started his composing adventure with the encouragement of her teacher Emin Ongan when he was at Üsküdar Music Community. Then his compositions were also very much appreciated by his artist friends and new works came one after the other. In this study, some of the discourses of his teacher Emin Ongan and of his artist friends about Avni Anil, and a biography in which the composer tells his own life story, also an interview with his sister Berhayat Anıl who is a retired radio artist, have been included. In accordance with the research carried out, 154 works of Avni Anil in the archive of the State Choir have been identified. As a result of examining the maqam analysis of these works, which were composed in the form of 152 songs, 1 hymn and 1 children's song, it was aimed to reach the composer's maqam usage technique by determining the maqam routes used. It has been determined that a total of 17 different maqams and 8 methods were used in Avni Anıl's works, including 2 pieces of Acemkürdî, 27 pieces of Hijaz, 2 pieces of Husayni, 14 pieces of Hüzzâm, 1 piece of Karcığar, 31 pieces of Kürdîlihicazkâr, 2 pieces of Mahûr, 5 pieces of Muhayyerkürdî, 50 pieces of Nihâvend, 1 piece of Nikrîz, 8 pieces of Rast, 1 piece of Sabâ, 2 pieces of Sigah, 2 pieces of Sûzidil, 1 pieces of Sûzinâk 3 pieces of Uşşak and 1 piece of Yegâh. During the research phase, in order to access information about Avni Anil's life and his artisanship, descriptive survey model was used and interview technique was also applied.
