Rising of the far right in Europe: Examples of Germany and France

Since September 11, Europe has witnessed the movement of extreme right tendencies from the marginal area to the center of politics. The ongoing balances in European politics began to change with the effect of the conjuncture that emerged after September 11. The discourses of political parties were effective in changing these balances. The far right parties which have been in the marginal area of politics for years, had the opportunity to challenge the central parties' hegemon discourse. As a result of this challenge, Europe has experienced significant changes in social and political life. The aim of this thesis is to examine and analyze how the right-wing parties to put foreigners and Muslims into a marginalizing discourse, the effects of this discourse on the discourse of the central parties, the effects of the discourse on the social structure and the parties' vote rates in the name of opening a field in politics by using the conjuncture of after September 11, 2001. In this thesis, it has been suggested that in the conjucture that emerged after the September 11, right-wing parties' discourse that put foreigners and Muslims into a marginalizing, pushed the central parties to follow populist policies and increased anti-foreignerism in society. This situation increased violence against foreigners that living in European countries. In this study, the discourses of extreme right parties and central parties were examined to analyze all of these.
