Envıronmental ımpact assesment and strategıc envıronmental assesment ın process of european unıon environmeantal legıslatıon of Turkey, applıcabılıty ın Istanbul marınes

Since 1970s the considerable global importance of the environmental aspects has brought open discussions in international congresses. During this time the importance of environmental aspects has brought in national studies and laws.Nowadays, coastal zones ecologically are negatively affected by the construction of the marinas one of the main componenent of the tourism. In the past, some of the coastal zones were destroyed due to the legal gap of Turkey. After rearrangements in coastal zone laws, it is allowed to construct cruise ports.In this master of science thesis, environment concept and EIA are examined and related with coastal zones. During the construction of marinas, EIA process is commented. Pendik Marina was preferred in order to study in Istanbul for EIA Report.Key Words: Environmental Impact Assessment, Strategic Environmental Assessment, Marina.
