Abstract (EN)
The present study examines research and development investments. It is tried to clarify what contribution of research and development investments are on economy as general aspect while having mentioned what research and development is, where research and devolopment originates from, what the relationship between research and development and economical components is, what the contrubition of research and development is on economical components.Instead of being mentioned about its importance on the world, the study is examined in terms of the economic territory of the EU Nuts2 (Nomenclature of territorial units for statistics ) as well as teorical explanations. Effect of R&D investments on employment in the EU regions is analyzed based on economectric approch by using data from Eurosat Nuts2 region and Arcgis Programme. The purpose of the study is to try to find out where distribution of research and development investments is intense or tends to decrease and to explain which data and factors may lead these results by considering level of income in this region.
