Abstract (EN)

With globalization, the world trade entered into the active period. As the countries tried to increase their competitiveness in order to get a better share from world trade, the transportation sector has aroused as an important factor in this process. With its geographical location, growing foreign trade capacity, increasing production, young population and implemented regional policies, Turkey has a significant position in Eurasian logistics? market. Although the harmonization with the EU enforced the country's transporters to implement the acquis communitaire, these implementations made the sector more innovative, higher quality and competitive.In this study, characteristics, capacity, potential and competitiveness of Turkish international road freight transport sector vis-à-vis the countries in the region has been analysed. The hypothesis that Turkey having a competitive edge in road freight transportation, with the prompt completion of certain processes could be one of the indispensable logistics centers of Eurasian trade was tested.
