Abstract (EN)

The migration fact realizes within national borders and on an international basis in accordance with people?s needs. The restrictive migration policies enforced by member states of the European Union become clear with globalization process. In this context, many migrants specially from Balkan, old Eastern Bloc, Caucasian, Middle-East, Asian and African countries migrate illegally to the member states of the European Union. Illegal migrants migrate to the member states of the European Union for issues such as unemployment, poverty and war existing specially in their countries. On the other hand, illegal migrants are in cheap labour position for employers in the European Union.Turkey functions as a bridge between Asia, Europe and Africa continents. In other words, Turkey is an important transit point between East-West or North-South. In this respect, Turkey shows a transit country property for illegal migrants incoming particularly from Middle-East, Asian, and African countries in order to reach the member states of the European Union. Turkey is also in a migrant-receiving country position for illegal migrants incoming from Balkan, old Eastern Bloc and Caucasian countries. In this context, Turkey shows migrant-sending, transit, and migrant-receiving country properties.Accordingly, illegal migrants incoming to the member states of the European Union and Turkey are employed in labour-intensive, semi-skilled, low-paid, having bad working conditions and long working hours jobs. In other words, illegal migrants work informally in the sectors in which native labour don?t work mainly like that domestic services, construction, and textile. In this context, employment of illegal migrant generalizes employment issues and increase partly unemployment. On the other hand, illegal migrants receive discrimination and inequalities according to native labour in terms of working conditions, risk of unemployment and wage. Due to this state, illegal migrants are faced with risk of poverty and social exclusion.
