Abstract (EN)
Turkey has endeavoured to be member of European Union (EU) for the harmonisation of EU criteria in the economical and social area since 1959 that applied to membership of EU. The most important purposes of Turkey are to improve in the economical and social area, to be able to qualify for free circulation rights after getting EU full membership.Turkey must comply with aviation criteria of EU for full membership. Aircraft maintenance is one of the most important factors affecting aviation safety. EU full membership will not be reached unless Turkey complies with aircraft maintenance criteria of EU.
