The effect of the European Green Deal on Turkey's agricultural sector policies and exports

Climate change, the biggest problem of today, increases its negative effects on the ecosystem. In this regard, international authorities are working on sustainable production models. Intermediation in international trade is very important in order to deliver sustainable production models to a worldwide standard. In this thesis, which deals with sustainable development and the European Green Deal; The importance of the need for export companies, especially those in the agricultural sector and centered in Europe, to adapt to changing legislation was mentioned. In the first part of this thesis study, which was prepared in four stages; The definition of sustainable development and international studies on this subject are discussed. In the second part; The definition and functioning of the European Green Deal were mentioned and the developments in the agricultural sector were examined. In the third part; The changing legislation of Turkey, an important commercial partner of the European Union with the European Green Deal, and the studies carried out by the Ministry of Commerce on the subject were examined. It is especially focused on the agricultural sector. Additionally, the importance of the Customs Union and its updating was mentioned. In the fourth and last part of the study; By analyzing the survey form in which we used a 5-point Likert scale and interview questions to make judgments appropriate to the purpose of the research, interviews with companies that export food and agricultural products to the European Union, which are especially preferred, were analyzed and their studies on sustainability and the effects of the European Green Deal on Turkish companies were analyzed. has been interpreted and conveyed.
