Evaluation of land consolidation sevices in Aydin Dalama Plain in terms of land development and farmer satisfaction

This study was conduted to asses the effectiveness of land consolidation on Aydın- Dalama plain. The materials used in the study consist of the data obtained from the questionnaire carried out with 90 holdings in the village and the data obtained from the related institutions. In the area where land consolidation applied, 3 main indicators were selected to determine the activity of land consolidation. The water use efficiency, the physical efficiency and the social and economic efficiency have been used as the three basic indicators in order to determine the efficiency of land consolidation. The effect of consolidation on the water use efficiency, transportation efficiency, the farm size and number of parcels have been analysed under these indicators. Moreover, the effects of consolidation regarding the social and economic aspects have been analysed as well as consolidation and irrigation rates. The total parcel number has decreased about 38%. The number of parcel decreased from 1 108 to 420 with the land consolidation in the plain Consolidation and irrigation rates are specified to be 62% and 94.69% respectively. The total rectangle plot shape has increased from 17.23% to 69.7%. The average parcel size increased from 4.81 to 12.69 decares. All parcels are provided with a road and an irrigation system. In terms of social and economic conditions, income level of farmers have increased by 86%.
