Investigation of work accidents and occupational diseases occuring in agricultural tool machinery manufacturing sector in Söke, Aydin

Objective: This research was carried out with the aim of investigating the work accidents and occupational diseases that occur in the agricultural tools and machinery manufacturing sector in Aydın province Söke district. Material and Methods: The material of the study consists of face-to-face survey interviews with 15 enterprises representing the agricultural equipment and machinery manufacturing sector in Aydın province Söke district and the technicians/technicians, engineers and employees responsible for these enterprises. As a result of the information obtained from the answers to the survey questions, proportional evaluations were made and interpreted on the basis of the enterprise. Results: Business structures and production departments, machining types and welding methods, occupational health and safety information, work accident and occupational disease information, and the place where the accident occurred and the way it occurred, the type of injury and regions. Conclusion: As a result of this research; In the district of Söke, it has been determined that the manufacturers of agricultural equipment and machinery comply with the occupational health and safety rules in general, and as a result, there has been a decrease in work accidents and occupational diseases in recent years. In addition, it has been determined that there are no fatal work accidents in recent years and that the accidents that occur are generally caused by human error and small hand, arm, leg injuries. In addition, it has been determined that by creating a conscious awareness of the employees with regular education and training, their perception levels increase and preventive measures are taken against work accidents and occupational diseases accordingly.
