Marketing and economical analysis of broiler farms in Aydın province

Abstract (EN)
In present study structural and economical analyzed documents of rapidly increasing broiler farms in Aydın province were determined as a survey study and results were counted. In addition the effects of exact membership process to Europen Union (EU) and Agricultural Agreements of World Trade Organization (WTO) on our country's broiler sector were determined. In this frame presence problems were found out exactly and some suggestions to solve the problems were given. In research province totaly 69 active broiler farms were determined. The survey was conducted at 30 broiler farms as a result of some calculations, so that 28 of these were contractual and 2 farms at free conditions. A total number of broiler houses of determined enterprises ranged from 1.07 to 3.00 and the average was 1.63. Average age of farm manegers 40.90 years old and broiler managership experiment was around 6.87 years, education was levels were generally highschol and lycee. The biggest part of asset was consist of building capital by 4 1.46% and tool- machine capital by 19.75%. Average slaughter age was determined as 41.50 days' in the farms. An average feed consumption was 3.6 kg and live weight was 1.9 kg per chick at the end of the fattening period. The feed convertion rate was determined as an average 1.93, the feed efficiency was 51.80%, which declared as an alternative statement of feed convertion. Total production expenses in enterprises were consisted of feed costs 67.95%, chick costs 17.37% and other costs 14.68%. Average net income per unit live weight was 35829.24 TL/kg. Contractual broiler farms as well as broiler entegrations are faced with some problems such as supplying good quality day old chicks, high feed costs, unstable input and output prices, chicken healthand diseas, lack of technical support and services, qualified labour, credit, marketing and export facilities. In process of exact-98- membership tu EU and in the situation of probable exact membership, sufficient support will be able to take from agricultural funds of EU. If the supports are can be used before WTO-Agricultural Agreements have been complated in order to solve structural problems of broiler sector in our cuntry, getting conformity will be possible to intensive competited world market.
