The qualification–quantity of lighting: Quality of lighting that is getting new working areas in information age

Concept of space remains since ancient times to present. It is changed and developed over time. The improvement and the change in the living conditions are important factors for this. The main purpose of constituting a space is to meet the needs. In order to provide this some datas must be created in detail. The outer shell of the space is very effective on the user, though the inner shells effect is more. The powerful datas in space arrangement are; form, colour, material, pattern and light. To be perceived by the user, the main circumstance for the space which is arranged with these datas is light. In this sense the importance of the lighting emerges. Lighting can be designed as naturally or articially. With the change in living conditions and the improvement of the technology, peoples way of using the spaces has changed. Spaces with specific functions can be used by adding different functions. However the lighting projects that are designed for the main function sometimes can nat match the added function. This problem can cause some health and psychology issues and furthermore it can cause ineffectiveness. Cafes are the leading spaces to be multifunctional. Cafes are used for studying due to the increase of working class population, student population and the inefficiency of libraries. In this work, imposing the studying function to cafes which have the main purpose of meeting and entertaining, and in this situation the importace and also the fact of inefficiency of lighting will be studied.
