Abstract (EN)

Ayla Kutlu is one of the most prominent female authors with her novels and stories in the contemporary Turkish literature after the 1980s period. After her retirement, the author who published her first works in various journals with her nickname called Aygen Berel puts all her effort into her works. The author, who often uses societal events, problems of women and exhaustions of human chooses historical and social events as a ground that encompasses and clarifies her themes. In the perspective of Ayla Kutlu's novels, woman themselves and anything related with women have come into the prominence and it could be stated that she has aimed to draw attention of people to the tragedies of women who were only accepted as a second-class individuals in the society and being objectified. The author who follows the mentioned direction builds her fiction between novel and human without having sloganic and argumentative discourses in her works. Ayla Kutlu completed her first works in the late 70s and reflected the atmosphere of that era into her pieces. Started with stories and then evolved into novels, the adventure of her authorship accomplishes to engender successful pieces of both literary genres. It can be asserted that the author who has been sensitive about Turkish language could catch fluency and impressiveness in her first works. Ten novels, four story books were published by the author and also many of them were adapted to theater and television. The author who has risen her recognition with the series of her work called "Bir Göçmen Kuştu O" in the television channel TRT is separated from other contemporary authors of the same era by having a line that prioritize women's issues with a realistic and critical style. In this study, novels of Ayla Kutlu those, which were published, has been examined in the context of novel technique and thematic fiction and analyzes about her novel world have been covered. As a result of these investigations, it will be easier to evaluate the novels that are the composition of such factors like the use of language, quality of theme, the formation of characters.
