Özet (EN)

This research aims to analyse all of Aytül Akal's novels in terms of character, subject, message, language and expression and images, which are the basic principles of child literature. These 20 novels of Akal, which address the children of middle school age, were analyzed through document review, one of the qualitative research methods. It has been determined that Akal's written work is generally competent in terms of the basic principles of child literature. In parallel to this, it has been specified that Akal's scripts have effective features in gaining the culture of reading for children. Within the scripts the priority of the principles of child relativity and child reality has come into prominence as the main factor providing this gain. In addition, it has been understood that protagonists are chosen among people with whom children can identify, the chosen topics mostly address the children's interests and needs, the messages are appropriate to the readers' language and universe of thought, and the images used in the scripts usually embody the narratives. Nevertheless, it has been determined that the scripts are not free of foreign words, exaggerated curiosity and randomness. Suggestions have been made to researchers and educators for the scripts which have been analysed.
