The Investigation of monasteries ın hystorical environmental settlement of Ayvalık

The content of the thesis entitled "The investigation Of Monasteries In Hysterical Environmental Settlement Of Ayvalık" is determination and documantation of the states of monasteries in Ayvalık and in its islands at present determining of building's destructions by investigation. In first part of the study; entry, the purpose and the way of the study is considered. In the second part; general information is given about the monasteries appeared around the world, spread of the monks life to all over the world, and the general characterises of monastery buildings is shiffened with a model to monastery buildings. General informations like the geographic location of "Ayvalık, the state of arrival, general geographic characteristics, the history of Ayvalık and the position and importance of monasteries in the history of Ayvalık is considered in the third part. In the fourth part; each of the twelve monasteries in Ayvalık and its islands are discussed with histories, plans, photographs and equipments of structures. The complex of these twelve monasteries in Ayvalık compared in general with also their churches,cisterns, plan and place perspectives, side of the buildings, structurel elements, ornaments seen in the buildings, equipment and techniques that is used and deformations in monastery buildings are exemined generally in detail. The advices for keeping monasteries in Ayvalık is given in the sixth part. Statistical study of Panagias Tis Lekai Monastery and statistical study of Ai Dimitri Ta Selina Monastery exist in the title of addings. In the result of this study we realised that the monasteries in Ayvalık are destructed by either human or natural effects. Unless doing any study about keeping the buildings as soon as possible, there won't be any ruins about monasteries in the next twenty year.
