The approach of employees to occupational health and Safety practices in the work places classified as least dangerous: The example of Bursa IV. Regional Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre in terms of public sector

In Turkey, Occupational Health and Safety Law No. 6331 and occupational health and safety practices have been gathered under one roof without making any sectoral discrimination. It covers all employees except for the exceptions listed in the law. Workplaces are classified in three categories as very dangerous, dangerous and less dangerous. The obligation of the law to have an occupational health and safety specialist and a workplace doctor in institutions in the less dangerous class with less than 50 employees has been postponed to 31/12/2023. The number of employees in workplaces that are classified as less dangerous in the public sector is quite high. This study was conducted in order to evaluate the perspectives of the employees in this class on occupational health and safety practices, taking into account the postponements experienced. The universe of the study is the Land Registry and Cadastre Bursa IV. It consists of the central unit of the Regional Directorate and public employees in the Cadastre and Land Registry directorates located in Balıkesir, Bursa, Çanakkale and Yalova city center and districts in its area of responsibility. 55 questions were asked to 187 people who participated in the study with an electronically applied questionnaire. The obtained data were analyzed with the help of statistical program. As a result of the evaluations, it was concluded that the occupational health and safety perceptions of the employees were not at a sufficient level, they did not consider the occupational health and safety training they received sufficient, and the importance of occupational health and safety practices could not be adequately grasped due to the deferred articles of the law.
