Abstract (EN)
One of the tools that strongly affect world politics in the 21st century is lobbying activities. Especially newly won countries benefit from lobbying activities to introduce themselves to the world and gain political advantage. After its independence in 1991, the Republic of Azerbaijan faced many problems in the world political arena. The Khojaly genocide that took place during the Karabakh war has not been well known in the world until today. In the first section, the concept of lobbying, its history and development, methods and techniques are discussed in detail. In addition, information is given about the Armenian lobby, which is one of the most influential in the world, as well as about its activities directed against Azerbaijan and Turkey. The second part focuses on lobbying and diaspora history and world activities of the Azerbaijan Republic and Azerbaijanis since 1918. In the third chapter, detailed information is given about the Khojaly massacre that took place on February 26, 1992 during the Karabakh Wars and the First Karabakh War, and the political lobbying activities of Azerbaijan are examined in the example of the Khojaly campaign launched in 2008 to announce this murder to the world public opinion. At the end of our thesis, suggestions are made for the successful implementation of lobbying activities in Azerbaijan. It is thought that our study will help the relevant institutions of Azerbaijan to evaluate and develop the existing lobby and diaspora policy, and contribute to the Azerbaijani diaspora organizations and researchers working in this field. Keywords: Lobbying, Diaspora, Azerbaijan Republic, Khojaly Genocide.
