Energy resources of Azerbaijan and regional development: The role of oil and gas

This thesis examines the relationship between Azerbaijan's economy based on energy resources and regional development. By examining the challenges and successes faced by countries with energy resources, such as Azerbaijan, in their regional development processes, it helps us better understand the impact of energy policies on regional economies. The aim of this thesis is to examine in detail the impact of Azerbaijan's energy resources, especially oil and natural gas, on regional development. In this context, it is aimed to evaluate the contribution of energy resources to regional economies and to contribute to the development of regional development strategies. The objectives of the thesis can be summarized as analysis of Azerbaijan's energy resources, the effects of oil and natural gas on regional development, evaluation of energy policies, identification of successful/unsuccessful projects and developing recommendations for sustainable energy use. The unique value of this thesis is that it discusses in detail the relationship between Azerbaijan's energy resources and regional development and contributes to the broader energy policies and regional development literature. It is also important at the international level, presenting Azerbaijan's experiences as an example for other countries with energy resources. The thesis aims to deeply examine the effects of Azerbaijan's energy resources on regional development by using quantitative and qualitative research methods such as literature review, statistical data analysis, field study and comparative analysis.
