Abstract (EN)
Turkish Independence War and Mustafa Kamal Ataturk are among the most remarkable objects in modern Azerbaijan historical researches. The reason of this high interest is not only resulted from the lack of analyses of this content during Soviet period Azerbaijan historical researches, but also welded from the necessity of profound analyses of Turkey-Azerbaijan relations in the first quarter of the twentieth century, support of Azerbaijani Turks to the Turkish Independence War and Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan objects in Ataturk's foreign policy. The new reports that the researches ascertained would be contributed to the development of the existed political, economical and military relations between two countries . Chronologically this thesis work covers 1920-2013 years. It is possible to divide the period into two sub-periods: The period of The Soviet Union and the period after 1991 when Azerbaijan gained its independence. These two periods are different not only chronological point of view, but also its viewpoint to the constituent report, objective and method. The main objective of this thesis work is to ascertain the similar and different sides among occupied works and the viewpoints, the interest to the researches of Turkish Independence War and Ataturk in Azerbaijan historical researches in these two periods. The relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan from the period when Azerbaijan gained its independency till today are concisely given," Turkey Republic researches" and the researches about Mustafa Kamal Ataturk's life and activities are briefly touched in the first chapter of the thesis consisting of three parts. In the second part of the thesis the researches of Azerbaijan historians about Turkish Independency War during Soviet Socialist Communist Unity and Ataturk are researched. In the Soviet period while studying Turkish Independence War both Azerbaijan and Soviet historians approached to the constituent problems of research topic under the influence of Soviet ideology and Soviet interests. At first sight, in Azerbaijan historical research of Soviet period, the casts of Soviet ideology and the structure of Turkey-Russia relations in 1919-1923, at the same time the relations between Soviet Socialist Communist Unity and Turkey are noticeable as the acts that affect the scientific part of the research. The other remarkable thing is literary, archive documents and the memories of people who lived in this period are used in restricted form, according to the prospect of researcher. In the third chapter of the thesis the researches about the character of Mustafa Kamal Ataturk, Turkish Independence War after Azerbaijan gained its liberty are studied. Some parts of the researches handle the content directly, and some parts approach the issue indirectly. The difference between studying writings and the researches is its contribution to the relations of two countries, the usage of all approachable sources, consisting of the illuminating of Azerbaijan-Turkey relations as objective as possible during Ataturk period. The scientific results of the researcher are shown in the conclusion of the thesis work. Key Words: Ataturk, Turkish Independence War, Turkey, Soviet Union, South Caucasus.
