Husrev U Şirin by Azeri İbrahim çelebi̇ contextual index and functional dictionary

Entering into Turkish literature from Iranian literature, Mesnevi has become one of the most used verse forms along with kaside and gazel in Classical Turkish Literature and has taken a place of novel and story in modern literature. Because the number of verses is unlimited, and due to the chance of using different rhyme in each verse, Ottoman poets preferred it on especially long and narrative subjects. Additionally, Husrev ü Şirin and Ferhad u Şîrîn stories were one of the most treated topics in mesnevis. The subject of Hüsrev ü Şirin was first mentioned by Firdevsî-i Tûsî who was one of the Iranian poets as a small chapter in the life story of the Sassanid ruler Husrev-i Perviz (Husrev bin Hürmüz II) (596-628) in Shah-name. After Shah-name, it was storied by twelfth-century Iranian poet Hakim Senai, and then Nizami-i Gencevî (1141-1203) immortalized it by writing an independent mesnevi on the subject. This mesnevi, with some differences, influenced the works written on the same topic in Iranian and Turkish literatures. According to Faruk Kadri Timurtaş, 31 Hüsrev ü Şirin mesnevis were written in Iranian literature, and 21 in Turkish literature. In this study, all the words involving in Âzerî İbrahim Çelebi's mesnevi called Husrev ü Şirin are listed in the Tebdiz system with their places and functions in the context, in alphabetical order.
