Historical novels of Aziza Ceferzade and Ferman Kerimzade (1970-1990)

The historical novels by Aziza Ceferzade and Ferman Kerimzade, who wrote their works in the genre of historical novels in Azerbaijan literature in the years of 1970-1990, were analysed in the study "Historical Novels of Aziza Ceferzade and Ferman Kerimzade (1970-1990)" within the framework of historical reality and fictional events and heroes. On the basis of the text, the relationship between history and literature and also reality and fiction has been tried to be interpreted with the data of social sciences. The relationship between the situations and historical reality in the examined novels was investigated as well as how the authors represent historical events and people in their novels, what sources were used, the reasons for choosing those sources, the area of freedom of authors and their goals in bringing fiction to the fore in spite of historical information. It is thought that this study will be useful for developing a new point of view in the field of the historical novel a new perspective for historical novel studies and for opening a new field of research in this area. The original editions in Azerbaijani Turkish of the novels "Alemde Sesim Var Manim" ("I have a voice in the world"), "Vatana Gayıt" ("Return to the Homeland"), and "Baku 1501" by Aziza Ceferzadeh, as well as the novels "Karlı Aşırım" ("Snowy Pass"), "Hudaferin Köprüsü" ("Khudafarin Bridge") and "Çaldıran Döyüşü" ("Chaldiran Battle") were carefully read and detailed in the thesis consisting of three parts. The first chapter named "Historical Events and Heroes in Novels" provides information about the historical events and real personalities of heroes based on various historical sources. The life, creativity and literary personality of the writers were analysed in the second chapter called "Historical novels of Aziza Ceferzade" in the third chapter "Historical novels of Ferman Kerimzade", and as well as their historical novels written between 1970 and 1990 were investigated from the name to the content, from the story to the technical point of view, the level of manifestation of the historical events and facts that are the theme of the novel, fictitional events and heroes that are the subject of the novel, the plot, the main characters of the novel, norm, background characters, the headings of background characters and themes. The results obtained from the study are summarized in the "Results" section. A detailed bibliography on the topic was added to our research in order the analyzes performed with the materials, thus providing a more detailed explanation of the topic.
