Abstract (EN)

In this study, boron carbide reinforced (%5-10-15-20) aluminum silica based composites have been produced. Secondary samples features shaping a range of semi-solid were examined. In study, taking into consideration the effects of semi-solid formation method such as; the rate of reinforcement, reinforcing grain size, pressing pressure, sintering atmosphere and sintering temperature were investigated. Microstructure for examination, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) was used. Intermetalic phases using XRD analysis were determined.Property of semi-solid forming process influenced the porosity, decreased porosity and denser composite structure was obtained. Applied to study a range of semi-solid-liquid forming method has emerged to strengthen the connection between matrix and reinforcement. In samples, between matrix and reinforcement particles such as; AlB10, AlB12, Al3SiB48, Al8B4C7, intermetalic phases were occurred.As a result of the studies, the hardness of samples was increased with addition of boron carbide. But at the same rate of addition of boron carbide depending on the hardness of the samples semi-solid shaping values have increased more. In samples produced by powder metallurgy, the highest hardness value, 20% B4C reinforced the N5 sample was measured as 71.3 HV.In semi solid formational specimens, the highest hardness value, 20% B4C reinforced N10 HV sample was measured as 85.4.Keywords: Al-Si, B4C, Composite, Semi-Solid Forming.
