Abstract (EN)
Bâbek Sect is a religious sect attributed to Bâbek Hürremî (d. 838), who fought against the caliphate of the Abbasids during the Islamic period of the Hürremi Movement, which existed before Islam. This sect was in rebellion against the current Abbasid rule in Mesopotamia, Azerbaijan, Iran, Khorasan, Transoxiana and Armenia for 22 years during the reign of Caliphs Ma'mun and Mu'tasim. The Babeki Sect first emerged in the Islamic period in 779. When Bâbek became the leader of the movement in 816, the sect was called Bâbekiyye. It is also mentioned as Bâbekîler, Hürremiler, Bâbek Hürremdin, Hüremdiniyye. Islamic Sects have always been mentioned with rebellion in historical sources. Since the Bâbekî Party emerged in opposition to the governments of the period, it was constantly criticized and referred to as an un-Islamic Gulât sect. In Islamic history sources, historical figures such as Babek were brutally criticized, insulted and ridiculed, making it difficult to understand opposition sects such as the Babekî Sect correctly. The fact that Abu Muslim's role in the establishment of the Abbasid state was ignored and he was killed was met with a great reaction by other communities other than the Arab element, especially the Kurds. As a matter of fact, Babek, who is claimed to be the grandson of Abu Muslim, turned the Hurramiyya sect into a rebellion movement and received support from Persians, Kurds, Azeris and Armenians. The Babeki Party is a political and religious movement that was formed in a reactionary manner against Sunni Islam. It was also influenced by beliefs such as Zoroastrianism, Zoroastrianism, Mazdeism and Manichaeism before Islam.
