Social media use of baby boomers: Facebook example

Facebook has an important power of representation among the social media channels among the communication technologies that are changed and renewed every term. In 2004, when it was introduced, it was used for communication in universities. The book was increasingly distributed all over the world and appealed to users of all ages. In the early stages of Facebook, which surrounds the X and Y generations, Facebook became the area of interest of the Baby Boomers Generation. However, this effect was realized in a certain period, the Baby Boomers Generation suddenly migrated to Facebook. In this context, this study aims to establish the connection between Baby Boomers Generation's Facebook usage habits and each other. For this purpose, researches and interviews were conducted in the designated regions. The data and findings revealed the link between Baby Boomers Generation and Facebook. According to the findings, it was determined that there was participation due to the communication aspect of Facebook and the participation was realized by the influence of the interviewer's environment. It is also clear that Facebook is now a part of Baby Boomers Generation's life. Key Words: Social Media, Generation Baby Boomers, Facebook, Turkey, Baby Boomer
