Abstract (EN)

In this study, it is aimed to determine the kinetics of color removal in reactive Black 5 dyestuff by Bacillus subtilis facultative anaerboric bactery grown in an artifical media. Diluted solution (1.5%) of dyestuff prepared in certain concentrations is exposed to different temperatures in a nutrient media in a sterilizer for decomposition.During decomposition somples have been taken in certain periods of time by centrifugation. Colour intensity in the centrifugate, dry and wet MLSS concentration have been determined gravimetrically. After the decomposition, the aquous mixture was separeted via centrifugation. The precipitate has been dried and weighed to determine the dry mass, and eluate has been analysed by UV spectrophotometer at the wavelengh of maximum absorbance to determine the concentraction of dyes with time. From the findings, it was found that the color removal with time obeys first order kinetics. Reaction rate constants at 25oC asnd 35oC were found from the graphs and activation energy of biodegradation was calculated ( 30.930 kJ/mol).
