Abstract (EN)
Aim: In our study, we aimed to reveal retrospective clinical and radiological short and mid-term results of ligament substituting total knee prosthesis cases and to compare them with literature. Material and Method: In this study, 74 knees of 55 patients who were followed up regularly among 114 patients who underwent primary substituting ligament total knee prosthesis with cement between January 2015 and 2020 in the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology of İnönü University Faculty of Medicine, were included. Our study is a retrospective study and our patients were evaluated clinically according to the American Knee Society scoring system before and after surgery, and radiologically according to the Radiological Evaluation Criteria of Total Knee Prosthesis. Analyzes were performed with IBM SPSS 25.0 program, and p <0.05 values were considered statistically significant. Results: 9 (16.3%) patients who had ligament substituting total knee prosthesis were male and 46 (83.7%) patients were female and their ages were between 51 and 88 years (mean 66.7). The follow-up period ranged from 2 to 60 months, with a mean of 22.9 months. 36 patients underwent unilateral knee prosthesis and 19 patients with bilateral total knee prosthesis in the same session. In the evaluation made according to the Knee Society Knee Replacement Assessment Criteria, the knee score of the patients was found to be 40 between 22-60 preoperatively, while the postoperative knee score was found to be mean of 85 between 40-96. The functional knee score was between 20-56, on means 40 and 85 postoperatively, between 20 and 100 postoperatively. One of our patients underwent revision surgeries with signs of loosening in the septic background and one patient in aseptic time. Conclusion: In our study, it was stated that the ligament substituting total knee prosthesis has satisfactory results in terms of functionality and satisfaction when applied to the appropriate patient within the appropriate indication.
