Abstract (EN)

Effect of ontologıcal well being mediating variable on the relationship between attachment styles and sexual satisfaction was investigated in this study by utilizing partner's data. Research population consisted of married couples from various cities such as Istanbul, Izmir, Bursa, Eskişehir, Elazığ and Samsun, during the year 2015-2016. The sample population consisted of the randomly selected married couples from various institutions, to whom the scales were handed in closed envelopes based on a voluntary basis. The sample consisted of 165 couples (165 females, 165 males; N = 330) with ages ranging from 23 to 60 years. Personal Information Form, Parent Attachment Scale, Golombok-Rust Sexual Satisfaction Scale (female / male), and Ontological Wellbeing Scale were used for evaluating the mediating role of life project on the relationship between attachment and sexual satisfaction. Hypotheses developed in line with the literature were confirmed by the research data. As a result of the structural equation modeling, it was concluded that the relationship between individuals' attachment style and sexual satisfaction was mediated by the life project. Results attained by the study were thoroughly discussed in terms of related literature and suggestions for future research regarding application of these results were provided.
