The relationship between attachment styles and early maladaptive schemas

Abstract (EN)

The main purpose of this research is seaching if there is significant relation between attachment relation which is formed in early periods of childhood relations with individuals' parents and primary caregivers and maladaptive schema which starts at the early periods of development and continues lifelong. In this research, as data collection tools; personal information form for searching sociodemographic features, inventories for experiences in close realtionship II for measuring attachment styles, Young Schema Questionnaire-Short Form 3 for measuring the maladaptive schemas have been used. In total 255 persons, of which is 158 females and 97 males, aged 18-60,being chosen randomly, have been composed of this sample of research in Diyarbakır Kayapınar district. Positive corelation has been seen between the taken point from Schema Questionnaire and attachment styles. It has been detected that the more the Insecure attachment ( anxious and avoidant attachment) had increased, the more point of maladapive attachment had increased. In our study, the findings which were obtained from datas being collected from participants have been interpreted in thelight of literature and necessary suggestions have been made.
