vPROJECT MANAGEMENT APPLICATION WITH DEPENDENCYSTRUCTURE MATRIX(M.Sc. Thesis)Kerem Murat KILIÇGAZI UNIVERSITYINSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGYSeptember 2006ABSTRACTDesign management suffers from the lack of supply chain experienceand sensitivity, despite the fact that poor component and supplierchoices can have substantial negative impact on projectimplementation. Even less frequently does the upper management drivestrategic supplier selection during development of a new design, whichhas the potentially devastating effect of misaligning their projectroadmap with the roadmaps of key component suppliersReduction in costs as well as a decrease in time of the projects, whichare among the main targets of the company, are only possible byintegration of design and procurement taking into consideration thestrong cross-disciplinary iterative relationship between procurementand design. In this study, I aimed to develop an integrated design andprocurement plan for a real project in the light of an iterative approach.I begin with a literature survey about the current studies and finish withan integrated solution for a real project.Science Code : 906.1.119Key Words : Project Management, Design Structure MatrixPage Number : 87Adviser : Prof. Dr. Fevzi KUTAY
