Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to try to understand the construction of an identity by an independent music artist. The primary goal is to understand the notion of independent music. To understand which changes in the history of music constitute the concept of independent music. In this direction, in the first part of the study, the notion of identity is discussed and identity is tried to be explained. Here, belonging to the case of identity, belonging, postmodern identity, self-centered identity and reflexivity are discussed in detail. In the second part of this study, music industry, punk stream and independent music are discussed. Historical, industrial and sociological analyzes of the process of independence in music have been made and comparisons have been made which determine what are mentioned as major and independent (indie) concepts in music industry. Indie music, including the punk stream that forms the basis of this music is tried to explain the underlying factors. 'What is the practice of making Indie music?', 'What kind of collectivity do artists perform under this genre?' and 'what are these musicians' attitudes towards music?' issues have been mentioned. Finally, Kare Muzikevi, which stands out as an 'agency' for independent artists, has been told and what kind of formation has been turned here, what the independent art collective covers and how it belongs.
