The compare of the Balkans' economy before and after independence, 1800-1914

Since the beginning of 18th century which is the period of regression, the biggest struggle of Ottoman Empire was to again form its domination in Balkan?s land in order to prolong its strength in Europe. But it is a fact that the biggest obstacle for Ottoman Empire was the Russian?s desire to gain acsess to the warm waters. This struggle became almost impossible after Treaty of Küçük Kaynarca in 1774. During this period, we see that Balkans were both affected by the idea of nationalism that was growing rapidly in Europe and speeded up the revolts with the help of Russian. Finally, for Ottoman empire 19th century can be accepted as an innovation period to maintain its control over the communities in the Balkans land.Accordingly, in substantive work, the economic impacts of the innovations that Ottoman Empire made for Balkan communities during 19th century such as Political Reforms (Tanzimat), Reforms (Islahat), and Ist Constitutionalism (I. Meşrutiyet) are emphasized and also away from the political events of the period, the dynamics of the increase in welfare in the last period of the independence in Balkan States are proved. Moreover, from the period of the independence in 1878 to Ist World War, economic performances of the independent Balkan Countries? are discussed comparatively. Constitutively, it is seen that increase in welfare before independence, disappeared for Serbia and Bulgaria after independence but for Romania it went on thanks to the investments that support economic developments.
