The social degeneration in the post-independence Azerbaijan cinema: The Window and the Dog

Cinema is an industrialized art form with its own laws and its own language. Cinema history is generally a branch of history, and movies are one of the writing tools of countries`. By the period of social structure, the cultural transformation, the influence of the dominant ideologies, Cinema is one of the forms of history reflection and the social life of country, which it belongs to. In this regard, this study, after the independence of Azerbaijan, the changes in the society of the country and degeneration in the community were investigated through the cinema, which has the characteristic of reflecting the degeneration in moral and ethical values, the degeneration in society and divergence from its own culture and essence. Degeneration has manifested itself on different systems in various forms in different countries. After gaining independence, the degeneration experienced in the society has exposed itself more clearly due to the free economic passage, political, economic and war problems. Social changings affects every aspect of life. Negative situations that each country encountered during the passage to the free market economy was also valid for the Azerbaijani society. After independence, the changes in the traditional society structure, the problems brought by the transition from the socialist economy to the market economy have deeply affected the branches of art, especially the cinema industry. The handling types of degeneration were analyzed within the context of ethics, morality, and degeneration within the scope of selected film example Azerbaijani cinema in the 1990s.
