Abstract (EN)

In this research consequences of loneliness, hopelessness and depression levels on elderly persons living in nursing homes have been examined. To the research 64-88 age groups women and men participated who living in Hacı Rukiye Gazioğlu nursing home in Kayseri; they participated as oneself volunteers to the examination. With the intent of data sampling in the research used scales were "UCLA Loneliness Scale", "Beck Hopelessness Scale" and "Beck Depression Inventory", and "Personel Knowledge Form". Data obtained from the research examined by using SPSS 22.0 packaged software. During assessment of data the numbers, percentage average and standard deviation used as descriptive statistics methods. A relation between continuous variables has been tested by correlation analysis. By applying hierarchical regression models in the research has been tried to determine the mediation role which signified by Baron and Kenny (1986). After hierarchical regression models, to determine the mediation role a test performed which developed by Sobel (1982). In the end of the research determined that on the effect of loneliness on depression on the elderly persons hopelessness has mediation role.
