Applications of maintenance and repair welding in plastic injection and ceramic moulding

Abstract (EN)

In developing technology and industrial structure, costs are one of the most important factors to be succesfull in competition condition. The stopping time of machines, work piece changing and labour costs increase the portion of cost factor. Doing maintanence welding to delay material?s wear and doing repair welding instead of changing damaged tool with new ones are very important because they can decrease costs of raw material, labour, time and natural resource usage by using manufacturing factors effectively. In this study, first of all, general information is given about welding. Maintanence and repair welding are explained and some information is given about materials and methods. Factors which cause failures are mentioned and some analizes that should be done before repair welding, are explained. In experimental part of the thesis, TIG and manuel metal arc welding are used for repairing 40CrMnNiMo8-6-4 plastic injection mould material and manuel MIG, robotic MIG, TIG and oxy-acetylene spraying are used for repairing X210Cr12 ceramic mould material. The results are evaluated according to hardness and HAZ width comparisons are done. Keywords: Filler welding, mould material, mould repair.
