Abstract (EN)
In this study, copper accumulation in liver, intestine, gill and muscle tissues of Oreochromis niloticus, which was exposed to 0.1 and 1.0 mg/L concentrations of CuO NP and CuSO4 for 7 and 21 days, and Na+, K+, Ca+2 and Mg+2 ion levels and the effects on Na+/K+-ATPase activity were investigated. In this study, copper accumulations in the tissues after to CuO NP and CuSO4 for 7 and 21 days increased with increasing concentrations of copper and time in the medium. The highest accumulation occured in the liver followed by intestine, gill and muscle. It was found that the copper accumulation in the tissues of fish exposed to CuO NPs in all tested conditions was higher than those of fish exposed to CuSO4. Our data show that tissue ion (Na+, K+, Ca+2 ve Mg+2) levels effected by CuO NP and CuSO4 .. In all the concentration of CuO NP and CuSO4 the end of the 21th day Na+ and K+ levels in the liver, intestine, gill and muscle of O. niloticus were decreased compared with control. After 21 days of CuO NP and CuSO4 exposures tissue Ca++ levels showed an decrease at gill and liver tissues and a increase in intestine and muscle tissue of O. niloticus. CuO NP and CuSO4 concentrations caused a decrease in Mg+2 levels in the liver, intestine and gill tissues while an increase in muscle tissue of O. niloticus. In tissues of O. niloticus, Na+,K+-ATP ase activities were altered by exposure CuO NP and CuSO4. In all the concentrations tested, CuO NP and CuSO4 caused a decrease in Na+,K+-ATP ase activity in the liver, intestine, gill and muscle tissues Key Words: Copper, Nanoparticle, Accumulation, Ions, ATPase, O. niloticus
