Abstract (EN)

Geophysics studies which is one of the earth sciences have had a unique place in searching for geothermal fields for a lot of years. These methods are being conducted during the production of geothermal energy and they provide information about the usage of the system.Geophysical monitoring studies done in regular time periods help in foreseeing the problems that may occur in the system. The established systems or the new ones that are about to be established are thought to be able to provide more efficient and useful usage conditions with these methods. Geological structures which make up the geothermal reservoir, electrical resistivity of the fluid, temperature difference in the system, flowing of a different fluid into the reservoir, change in the water level and production-reinjection relationship is observed with the conducted monitoring studies. In order to determine the fluid flow direction under the ground, electric resistivity method is chosen amongst the geophysical monitoring methods and by repetition of the field studies in certain time intervals at Balçova geothermal field observation of change is intended. Results of the studies have proven successful by revealing the presence of change in Balçova geothermal field. Results of change have been interpreted in accordance with the gained information about the well and meteorologic conditions.
