Nutritional status of preschool children and factors affecting in Balikesir city center

Nutritional disorders in the context of obesity ,the prevalance of malnutrition associated factors, determining the relationship between obesity and quality of live has been aimed to be evaluated.Research, education pre-school children 3-6 years in 1073 selected from 410 people was conducted in the universe. The number of students taken from the state schools and the private schools is determined with the stratified sampling method. The participating rate is % 89.0.In the research; researcher developed the questionnaire, Kiddy Kindl Quality of life Scale has been used and height and body weight of children were measured. the questionnaire has been applied to children face to face and has been given to their parents at the end of the lesson on condition that they have given back the questionnaires. data analysis in 95% confidence interval univariate and multivariate risk analysis, Student T Test, Mann-Whitney U Test, Anova, Kruskal Wallis Anova Was applied in Logistic Regression Analysis was used.The prevalance of underweight %1.1, wasting %4.5, stunting %2.2. The prevalence of overweight and obesity is % 15.1 and % 5.5. Appetite, income and expense being equal or too much income and don?t go to park, etc. İn children risk of overweight/obesity is high . In the research, it is determined that overweight/obesity doesn?t affect the quality of life and it?s subscale. İt is determined that the quality of life non-smokers in the emotional functioning father, self-esteem is not used in the field of food as a reward, do not eat three meals regularly, TV watching time constraints, children without siblings in the family functioning, In the social functioning in girls as brothers and working quality of life of children of mothers with high risk of being poor .Key Words: Preschool Term, Obesity, Malnutrition, Quality of life
