The analysis of terms of employees' businees ethic in banking sector: A research in area of Istanbul

Morality has been continuing its effects on people since the existence of humanity. In mankind?s first activities moral attitudes and behaviours can be observed. In this respect, first applications of business ethics began with the first human. But the state of business ethics take a systematic phenomenon is a event in recent times. After 1960?s, business ethics that gradually increases its impact throughout the world, reamains weak in terms of research in today?s Turkey. Although there have been establishments of institutes in Europe and America and and area of deployment research work in the sections in various sectors, the introduction of business ethics in Turkey corresponds to the 1980s. Especially with the emergence of corruption in business, has emhasis to give more importance to business ethics. In this context, the banking sector, as it is known by the community as a source for money, the moral weaknesses assumed to be more in this sector. Banking sector in Turkey has experienced a big change especially with the 2001 crisis, has become a model around the world by improving management controls with the best managers. A bank?s injustice of various aspects of its customers, society, environment, government and various public and private institutitions have kept into consideration. The study consists of three parts. In the first section ethics and business ethics of universal values, history are examined and the importance is focused. In the second section, banking history, banks in Turkey and the general view of the sector are examined. This section is also subject to the laws within the framework of the banks ethics and related items. In the third and final section, the results of questionaire were evaluated. The purpose of this study is to summarize the attitudes and behaviours of employees towards business ethics in banking sector in Turkey. In this context, to examine the attitudes of employees? to business ethics an questionaire that consists of 48 quesitons was prepared. The questinaires were made with 207 active employees that have been working in the banking sector in İstanbul region and the obtained data were analyzed with the SPSS statistical program. Significiant differences in perceptions and attitudes about business ethics were found among the the employees.
