THE LIQUID PHASE SINTERING AND MICRO STRUCTUREEXAMINATION OF BARIUM HEXZA FERRITE(M. Sc. Thesis)Lale ERDALGAZI UNIVERSITYINSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGYSeptember 2006ABSTRACTNowadays ceramics industry has a widespread use ranging from utensils toplane engines. As well as being an important ceramic material, Barium HexzaFerrite has been focused on its magnetic properties. In this study, theproduction of Barium Hexza Ferrite was performed. Through sintering atdifferent temperatures, the effects of sintering temperature on micro structureand through using different additives, the effects of additives on sintering andon micro structure were examined. To serve this purpose, the prepared sampleswent through micro hardness measurements, scanned electron microscopephotographs were examined and dotted analysis studies were done and finallyX-ray diffraction analysis were carried out. The results suggest that BariumHexza Ferrite production can be made possible in our country and using boroncompounds, rich in our country, a certain degree of hardness can be obtained. Thus, other than its ordinary treatment, the use of Barium Hexza Ferrite canbe possible.Scientific Code : 705. 1. 071Key Words : Material, Ceramic, SinteringNumber of pages : 84Advisor : Prof. Dr. Mahmut ZC LER
