Abstract (EN)

This study has been done for the aim of analysing Basel II process and by evaluating corporate structure of Turkish banking sector, searching the effects of Basel II process to the corporate structure of Turkish banking sector.This study consists of four sections. In the first section, by making description of BIS and Basel Committee, the development of Basel II process has been defined. In the second section, by mentioning to the risks that banks receive and the overlook of banks to the risk management, the risk management and internal control system in Basel II has been defined. In the third section, Basel II implementation in world banking sector has been mentioned. In the fourth section, the institutional structuring in Turkish banking sector and Basel II implementation has been defined. The structure of Turkish banking sector, the arrangements of capital adequacy in Turkish banking sector, the instutional arrangements of BDDK and the effects of Basel II to Turkish economy and institutional structuring after Basel II has been defined.In conclusion, because of Basel II Standard aims forming effective banking sector with effective risk management and internal control sector it will effect Turkish banking sector positively. However because of it is an arrangemet with high tecnology level, some problems can be come across in the preparation process.
