Presidential system and applicability in Turkey

The aim of this study to explain presidental system which is heavily debated in recently and show applicability of this system in Turkey with different perspectives. Preparing this study it is benefited from qualitative research methods, literature survey, data comparison tecniques, book, article and journals published foreignand domestic relevant about the subject. The study consists 3parts. In first part there are definitions of government system and democratic government systems. In second part there are definitions made by political scientists, history and application in USA of presidental system. In third part it analyses adopted governmental sytems in Turkish constitutional history, the presidental system proposal of Akp government and potential problems with the application of presidental system in Turkey. As a result of analyses regarding Turkey's current situation it was concluded that the presidental system will be helpful for Turkey Keywords Presidentalsystem, parliamentarism, constituion, legislation, executive,judgement, stability
